Dr. Igor Lacan

Environmental Horticulture and Urban Forestry Advisor

Providing technical and policy tools to advance sustainable environmental management. Focusing on urban trees and urban water, I develop research projects on emerging issues in urban landscapes. I produce extension and outreach materials that transfer findings from the University of California and other academic sources to the practitioners, and I serve as a technical resource for landscape professionals, planners and architects, local governments, Cooperative Extension colleagues and other academics, and tree-focused non-governmental organizations.

We work with professionals to improve pest control through research and education in order to protect our communities and the environment.

 

Dr. Carolyn Whitesell

Human Wildlife Conflict Advisor

I focus on human-wildlife conflict issues, with emphasis on wildlife species that impact or are impacted by human activities in Northern California, with emphasis in the San Francisco Bay Area (San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, and Sonoma counties) where urban and rural communities and landscapes overlap.

Specializing in applied research and extension of knowledge in the areas of fostering and implementing programs that focus on youth life skills development and working with communities to build capacities to support youth development.

 

Dr. Kamyar Aram

Specialty Crops Advisor

I conduct locally based research and extension programs to benefit small and medium-scale farming operations and specialty crops with a broad focus on problem solving.

Nutrition, Family & Consumer Science Advisor

Program focuses on education and applied research on food security and prevention of child obesity and chronic disease in low-income populations.

Urban Agriculture Advisor

Focusing on production, distribution and marketing of food and other products within the metropolitan areas and surrounding areas, including improving access to healthy food and promoting community development.
