Biography
Lorena is a youth Community Nutrition Educator for EFNEP in Alameda County. She grew up in a large family by the beaches and forests of Santa Cruz, California. She earned a B.S. in Nutrition Science at UC Davis in March 2024 as a first-generation student. At UC Davis, she wrote nutrition blog posts for a registered dietitian and managed the marketing for the UC Davis Farmers Market. Her passion for food and nutrition began during her early childhood, when she would watch her mother prepare traditional Mexican dishes. Lorena now brings her passion for nutrition to life by doing her favorite activity-- cooking. She also enjoys hiking, painting, and spending time with her two lovely cats, Sushi and Kiwi.
