Take one Mexican sunflower (Tithonia).
Add daylight.
Add one praying mantis.
Add patience, persistence and perseverance.
And you have a recipe for success or failure.
In this case, an immature praying mantis patiently perched on a Tithonia today and watched a zipload of long-horned digger bees, honey bees, bumble bees, carpenter bees and sweat bees flash by.
Ms. Mantis tried but nailed nothing.
There's always tomorrow...
